Monthly Bible Study Nights
GriffonRawl strives to host a Bible Study Night once every month, in conjunction with New Life Church of Perry, Ohio.
- We typically aim for the third Saturday of each month. However, because GriffonRawl is an active combat sports team, competition schedules, fights, tournaments, and other team events sometimes require us to adjust the date. Even when the date has to move, our goal is to make sure we come together for a Bible Study once each month whenever possible.
- We generally create a Facebook event page for each upcoming Bible Study with the most current date, time, speaker, topic, and other important information. We encourage everyone interested in attending to stay up-to-date through our social media pages or simply ask around at the gym for details on the next study.
- We do our best to bring in knowledgeable and engaging speakers. Many of our studies are led by pastors and experienced Christian teachers, while at other times members of our own community may lead a study when appropriate. Owner and Head Coach Jason Dent, for example, has also led one of our studies.
Every month may bring a different speaker or subject, but the goal remains the same:
- Learn together.
- Grow together.
- Strengthen our faith.
- Find practical ways to apply what we learn to everyday life.
What to Expect
Our Bible Study Nights are intended to be relaxed, welcoming, and interactive.
The gym typically opens at 5:30 PM on Saturday evening, giving everyone time to come in, grab some coffee, listen to music, talk, and get comfortable before the study begins.
Following the main speaking portion, we encourage discussion. People are welcome to ask questions, share their thoughts and experiences, and talk about what we covered and how it can be applied to our lives.
Music is played before and after the study, and we generally keep the gym open for approximately a half hour afterward so people don’t have to immediately rush out. It’s an opportunity for fellowship, conversation, and simply spending time together.
GriffonRawl provides the facility, music, and FREE coffee!
Everyone is also encouraged to bring food or snacks to share if they’d like. However, bringing something is never expected or required. If you can’t bring anything, come anyway! There is usually plenty to go around, and we’d much rather have you there than have you stay home because you didn’t bring something.
You Don’t Have to Be a Member
Our Bible Studies are NOT limited to GriffonRawl members.
They are open to our surrounding communities and to anyone who believes they may benefit from attending.
Whether you’ve studied the Bible your entire life, are returning to your faith, have questions, or simply have a little curiosity and want to listen — YOU ARE WELCOME.
Coming to one Bible Study doesn’t mean you’re committing yourself to attending every month.
Come to one.
Come periodically.
Come every month.
That’s completely up to you.
There is no pressure. We simply want to provide an environment where people have an opportunity to learn, ask questions, build relationships, and grow in their understanding of God and His Word.
Knowledge is Power
At GriffonRawl, we’ve always believed that KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.
Inside a combat sports gym, we prepare ourselves for physical battles. We learn to remain calm under pressure, overcome adversity, improve our weaknesses, and continue moving forward when things become difficult.
Life requires many of those same qualities.
Sometimes the battlefield is physical.
Sometimes it’s mental.
And sometimes it’s spiritual.
THE BATTLEFIELD MAY CHANGE, BUT PREPARATION STILL MATTERS.
We are proud to provide these Bible Studies as another opportunity for people within our gym and throughout our community to come together, strengthen their knowledge and faith, encourage one another, and become better prepared for whatever battles life puts in front of them.

You don’t have to know everything about the Bible.
You don’t have to be a GriffonRawl member.
And you don’t have to commit to attending every month.
You just have to be willing to walk through the door.
